In the latest update, Snapchat lets you add a new type of stickers to your snaps: Bitmoji. You can use a separate Bitmoji app to create your own cartoon figure which you can use in Snapchat.

After the announcement of the new Memory feature and the option to recommend users to your friends, Snapchat now comes with Bitmoji. Bitmoji was made by Bitstrips, a company that Snapchat acquired early this year for about $100 million.
With Bitmoji you can create personal emoji, cartoon-like stickers that you can design to your own face. In Snapchat you could already add stickers to your photos and videos but with Bitmoji you can make them look like yourself. Snapchat officially announced support for Bitmoji with a video and a strip.
How Bitmoji works in Snapchat
To use Bitmoji in Snapchat you have to play a few tricks. You first need the Bitmoji app. When opening the app you will see a button that lets you log in with your Snapchat account. Then you get in Snapchat the question whether you want to make a Bitmoji that you can link to your Snapchat account. Then you will be brought back to the Bitmoji app where you can go through a whole process to create your own personalized Bitmoji. With dozens of options for face, hair style, eye color, eyebrows, wrinkles and a real outfit you can completely design to your own example Bitmoji.

Two ways to use Bitmoji in Snapchat
You can use the Bitmoji images in Snapchat in two different ways. Through a special keyboard that you can send your own Bitmoji in private messages to friends. With this keyboard, you can also use the Bitmoji in other apps like iMessage. A second way is to first take a photo or video in Snapchat and after that, you add a Bitmoji in the same way as a sticker. If a friend on Snapchat also has installed the Bitmoji app and created a Bitmoji, you can use special Friendmoji. With a Friendmoji, the Bitmoji of you and a friend are combined.
